My Little Piglet

My newest news! My little Piglet!
I am due on 10/11/12. (How great would it be if I had Pig on that day?)
Which makes me about 9 weeks along.
Piglet was a little unexpected but we've finally come to terms with it,
and are now super excited.
Okay, maybe that's just me. Husband is still a little unsure.

How I found out:
My mom and I were driving to take my bridal pictures about a week and a half before my wedding.
I got super nauseated in the shower that morning and had to lay down.
I thought nothing of it- chalking it up to not enough sleep the night before.
I didn't have a good breakfast- about one and a half pop tarts.
I just didn't have time to make a good meal for myself.
Plus, I rarely eat breakfast.
In order to get to where we were taking pictures- we had to drive through a canyon.
My mom was driving.
I got super nauseated in the car and had to lay my seat down.
Once again- didn't think anything of it.
My mom started saying "hunny, do you think you're pregnant?"
"No. That couldn't be possible" Well, maybe- I haven't been taking my birth control consistently.
We pulled off the exit to fill her car with gas, when I knew I was going to throw up.
She quickly pulled over and I got sick on the side of the road.
Lovely.
She insisted I was pregnant the rest of the drive.
The photo shoot went well, but every time we got back in the car- I had to lay back in my seat.
My mom and I spent the rest of the day getting lunch, and shopping.
I felt nauseated the entire time, but not as bad as I was in the canyon.
On the way back to her house we stopped at the grocery store and she insisted I get a pregnancy test.
She took me to her house and sent me straight to the bathroom.
I wasn't nervous to take it, cause I was still in denial.
I took the test and those two positive lines showed up pretty quickly.
I remember thinking "oh shoot! Well, that's kind of exciting!" And "how's Jono going to react?"
My mom was ecstatic! And really supportive, which I was really glad about.

I called Jono on his way home from work and said "well, I'm pregnant."
There was a pause on his end of the line.
I even had to say- "are you still there?"
He was shocked!

But we've come to terms with it, and we're pretty excited now.
We really are in a good position in our lives right now.
We're married, have a nice home, and we'll both have full time jobs when little Pig comes.

We took this picture at the Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
I've had a tradition that every time I go to Disneyland (or World) I buy something Winnie the Pooh related.
I knew I wanted to get something for baby as well on this trip.
As soon as I saw this shirt (which is a picture of Winnie the Pooh holding a magnifying glass up to a real tiger and the caption says 'Tigger is that you?') I knew that's what I would be getting.
Little Pig's first shirt!
So exciting!
And it's so tiny! Just 6 month old size.

Anyways, I've been working on this pregnancy, which has been really great.
I've been eating better and really focusing on what my body tells me it needs.
I try not to get into the superstitious aspects of things.
And I know if I have questions I can just call my mom or sister.

I'm excited and I can't wait to find out the sex so I can start working on the nursery.

Why I've been gone

I know I've been M.I.A. for over a month.
But last month was just so dang busy for me.
My wedding was just amazing.
I went into the wedding planning and the actual day thinking-
'if something doesn't go "my way" I won't be disappointed,
because at the end of the day, I'm still married.'
Which was a perfect way to go into it, cause it helped a lot.
I wasn't disappointed with anything in the wedding.
My mom and sisters did such an amazing job at helping me plan and decorate,
I don't think I could have been disappointed even if I wanted to be.
As soon as I get the CDs from my wedding photographers I'll share more details and pics.

The night of our wedding we left on our honeymoon to Disney World.
I have dreamt of going there since I was young.
And I couldn't wait to spend my first time there with my best friend.
Other posts will be dedicated to my honeymoon.

I have lots of other great things coming up in my life in the next couple months:
-Husband's birthday
-Easter (my favorite holiday- I go all out)
-I start my new job with JetBlue
-And I'm starting school at the University of Phoenix

Plus, my newest news.....

10 Items I Wouldn't Want to Live Without

Here's my list of things I really wouldn't want to live without.
I use most of them daily.
And the others I use weekly.
What is your list of things you wouldn't want to live without?

1. Johnson and Johnson Baby Lotion
My mom used this lotion on us, growing up.
And I still use it today.
I've never been into the overly smelly lotions- that are so thick they seem to clog your pores.
Nope. Baby lotion is what I use- it's mild smelling and not thick and oily.

2. Bert's Bees Chapstick
Chapstick that tingles when you put it on.
So you know it's working. Perfect!

3. Exact Eyelights Mascara
Most of the time I don't wear a lot of makeup.
Usually I wake up, wash my face, face lotion, foundation and mascara.
And the mascara I love is Exact Eyelights for brown eyes.
It's hard to explain, but it makes my brown eyes stand out a ton!

4. Naked Eyeshadow Palette by Urban Decay
On the rare occasions I do decide to put on makeup, this is my go-to eyeshadow.
Fiance got it for me for Christmas and I'm absolutely obsessed with it.
The colors are so rich in color and go on my eyes just perfectly.
It comes with primer potion too, which I'm equally obsessed with.

5. Lipstick Queen
I've been really into lipstick lately but never knew what colors to buy.
One day when I was at Anthropologie I found a three pack of these lipsticks.
And now I love them!
They go on so nicely, without a pencil.
And they are beautiful colors.
Not too "in your face" colors either- ones I can wear everyday.

6. Beach Feet Boots
They're like Ugg boots, just not the same brand.
My go-to shoes.
I wear them constantly, even though I have a closet full of shoes.

7. My Pearl Earrings
Fiance got me some pearl earrings for Christmas, and I adore them.
I have so many earrings and yet I forget to put them on all the time.
But sometimes when I'm running out the door I grab my pearls.
They're simple, yet classic.

8. My Comforter and Cover
It cost me $30.
It's my nighttime blanket (cause I require more coverings than fiance).
It's my lounge around blanket (I carry it from room to room).
And if it could be, I would take it on vacation.
I've definitely gotten my moneys worth.

9. Swiffer Sweeper
Easiest mopping ever!
'Nuff said.

10. My Fiance (soon to be husband-in two weeks)
Well duh, no brainer.
I love him!
He calms me down and keeps me level headed.
He's my everything.

February at Last!

I'm so excited it's finally February.
Lots of exciting things happening this month....

....Super Bowl party at my house.

....Taking bridal portraits at the beginning of next week.

....Having my 4th and final bridal shower.

....Valentine's date with my fiance.

....A secret date I have planned out for fiance and I before we get married.

....I get married on the 18th!

....Spending a week in Disney World with my new husband.

Sorry I've been so M.I.A. for a while.
I've been so incredibly busy.
I've had three bridal showers,
a bachelorette weekend in Vegas with my girls,
and final preparations for the wedding everyday.
And to top that all off I've been battling a sickness that's been trying to
overcome me for the past two weeks.
But I just won't let it.

Anyway, I'm back and I have some great things planned for the blog.

Saturated Canary

I check this blog quite often.
Krista has an absolutely adorable shop.
As well as a great sense of style and creative mind.
Every time I enter her shop I want to buy something.

This week I made a card for a challenge and wanted to share it here.
I love coloring and working with paper for my crafts,
so finding Krista was great for me.

New Years Resolutions

How was your New Years Eve?
Ours was busy, but fun!
We saw Sherlock Holmes.
It's a tradition for me to go to a movie on New Years Eve.
We went to my siblings house and played a hilarious game.
Then ended the night at a friends house,
where I didn't get to finish that glass of champagne,
cause fiance accidentally knocked it out of my hand.

I love the new year.
It's a fresh start and a good excuse to make new goals.
I try to make every Monday a time to make new goals too.
I can't say that 2011 was a bad year for me by any means,
but I'm so excited to welcome in 2012.

New Years Resolutions:
- Lose some of the fat that is camping out on me, and gain muscle in its place.
- Study new things. And learn everyday.
- Expand my photography.
- I would love to learn a language.
- And I would love to learn how to cross stitch.

Exciting things happening in 2012:
- Fiance starts his new job at Ebay.
- We're getting married on February 18.
- Going on our honeymoon to Walt Disney World.
- I start my new job with Jet Blue.
- Starting college up again in the fall.
- We get to spend another year in our home, decorating more.
- And a 7-day cruise with friends in December.

What are your resolutions?
Anything exciting happening in 2012?

Pictures of Paradise in South Beach

Here are four of my favorite pictures from South Beach, Florida.
I took about 240 pictures on the whole trip- so obviously I'll only be sharing some of my favorites.
Jonathan and I spent three days in South Beach.
The first day, well- we spent the first day sleeping.
After flying the red eye to JFK and having a 4-hour layover there, we were so tired.
So we slept for a while when we got to our hotel,
woke up when it was dark outside,
ordered room service, and then right back to sleep until the morning.
Jonathan and I really like our sleep.
The next day we spent some time on the beach which was just steps away from outside our hotel.
Then we walked into the city.
I love walking!
Jono, not so much.
We walked 5 miles that day (into the city and back to our hotel).
I thought Jono was going to die.
Next day in South Beach we relaxed, walked on the beach some more,
and started walking into the city again when we discovered bikes.
They had bike outposts set up along the road to rent so we got two.
Riding bikes up and down South Beach was so great!
It's such a fun activity that I wish we could take advantage of more here in northern Utah.

I'll post more pictures of South Beach tomorrow.
Then I'll continue on our trip in the new year.

There had been a storm a couple days before we got there so there were
tons of jellyfish washed up on the shore.
We had to look at the ground as we were walking so we wouldn't step on any.
Their tentacles were wrapped up underneath them so we never got stung.
I know you were worried.

Isn't that heart rock so cool?
We found it, and don't worry- we brought it home too.
The sea fan was so beautiful and such a vibrant purple.

Christmas

It was a good Christmas in my neck of the woods.
Fiance and I made out like bandits in the gift department.
I got three new things of makeup (and by things I mean large pallets of eyeshadow),
four new pairs of shoes,
pearl earrings and a matching bracelet (from my wonderful fiance),
a shake weight (may have been a joke gift from my future sister-in-law, but joke is on her cause I love it),
some other beautiful jewelry (cause apparently I've turned into a girly girl),
and some way cute clothes my mom picked out (that lady sure knows how to shop).

It was a day filled with:
delicious food,
fun games,
laughter,
and adorable nieces and a nephew.

Today fiance and I went to Best Buy so he could look at what to spend his gift cards on.
Instead, we combined all of our gift cards and bought an xbox kinect we've been wanting forever.
And I had no idea how much work those games are.
I bought a Disneyland game (being the Disney freak I am) and I think my arms will be sore for a week.

I had wonderful plans of spending my american express gift card on clothes from the new H&M store in town.
But I think I'll get much more enjoyment out of the gaming system.
Bring it on calorie burning machine, bring it on!

The following pictures are of my nieces and nephew at the yearly
brunch we go to the week before Christmas.
Enjoy- they're cute kids.

How was your Christmas?
Did you get everything you wanted?

Day Twelve- 12 Days of Christmas

Day Twelve of the book is The Night Before Christmas.

Everyone has heard this poem.
And it was the day before Christmas so it was only fitting.

The present to go along with this day was a letter I wrote to the person I gave it too.

Day Eleven- 12 Days of Christmas

Day Eleven of the book is The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey.
Written by: Susan Wojciechowski

Photo curtesy of google search

This story is about a gruff older man who learns the real meaning of Christmas while making a nativity out of wood for a young widow and her son.
He learns to love again- since his wife and baby passed away years earlier.

This is a book I highly recommend.
It has such a good message and I'm afraid if I try to describe the book I just won't do it justice.

Since Jonathan Toomey makes a nativity set out of wood in the book- the present for this day was a small nativity piece made out of wood for the tree.
